Sinopsis:

2010 Berlinale Golden Bear and Ecumenical Jury Prize winner((, Honey)) is undoubtedly one of the best films in (( )) Turkish film history.  Its director Semih Kaplanoğlu is one the most appreciated auteurs of the new Turkish cinema. With Honey he has reached both esthetically and philosophically a summit that is equievalent to that of the great masters’ of cinema.  Bal completes Semih Kaplanoğlu’s trilogy called “Yusuf” which follows a man’s life from his adulthood (Egg)  back to adolesence (Milk) and finally to childhood. Kaplanoglu shows us the wild life in a forest up the mountains through the eyes of a little boy bewildered by his father’s work  as a honey gatherer. The way he climbes very tall trees, the darkness and the sounds of the forest  create a mesmerizing universe for little Yusuf as he learns to read in his first year at school. In a reversal of fortune in his life Yusuf will be most influenced by poetry. So will the audiences by the poetic grandeur of this film.
